A long time super contester has died from a fatal fall while on his
tower last Sunday.
Steve, N8SM (ex WD8IXE) was a father, a husband, a amateur radio
operator and a super friend.
He was part of the K3LR multi multi team for many years where he
operated on 20 meters with Pat, N9RV.
As part of the K3LR team, Steve and Pat held the 20 meter highest
country total record for any station
in the CQWW CW contest for several years.
Steve was also part of a 186 country effort on 20 meters in CQWW SSB
with Pat at K3LR several years ago.
Steve loved high end audio and also did some recording studio mixing
work. He was multi talented.
I could always count on Steve to check my antenna models, he was a super
friend.
Please remember Steve and his family in your prayers
I am sure that Steve is telling all of us to remember how dangerous
tower work is
and to be extremely careful.
73 OM Steve. You were one of the best. I'll miss you.
