I bought one, and it died within weeks.
When I called them about the warranty, they said that rating is for a
'horizontal' pulling load and not a vertical lift.
Grainger would not stand behind it.
I then bought a mechanical winch from Thern Winches, fitted the shaft to
take a Milwaukee Hole Hawg Drill.
Works much better, and I can take the drill inside out of the weather.

The Grainger Winch DID hold the position. The 'free wheel' and 'brake'
levers made me nervous.
It had a very short duty cycle, not long enough to fully raise or lower the
tower without stopping to let the motor cool down.
