Out here, about 30 to 45 minutes before sunrise, and continuing
throughout the day, a brilliant red Cardinal sits right atop the mast
on my "tower" (well, only about 35 feet high now, cranked down).
He sings and sings his heart out, actually a sort of a loud Chirp!
Chirp! Chirp. Usually four or five of these in a row, then he will
pause for a few seconds then begin again. Wonder if he is
calling out for any available lady Cardinal? He has not offered
to show me the direction to North, however. But is very good
at awakening me each of these pre-Spring mornings.
But he is at the highest available spot in our yard, hi.
Perhaps he will spot the Fed Ex man with my Orion
one of these days?
