Gene is right. My advice also is to forget and call the contractor. It'll be
worth it. However one thing to consider is that if you plan to use a concrete
truck to pour the mix into the hole and plan to drive the truck up to the hole,
you may want to save the hole spoils to fill in the tire ruts made by the heavy
truck. I know I used all my spoils and then some more. The other problem, as
Steve, K7LXC, mentioned is cave-ins from the side walls. This will also become
a problem if the hole is left open and it rains. For this size, the best bet
IMHO, is to hire the contractor for all the work. Spend your time on going
over the tower and antennas and plan out that part of the job. Gd luck, Phil
