Keep a couple of short pieces of light rope attached to your belt. You never
know when you will need to tie off something at the top of the tower.

I have a ss pulley at the top of the tower with 3/16" rope to the ground.
It's always there so I don't have to haul up a rope and pulley each time I
climb. If I'm at the top of the tower and need something or drop a tool, no
need to go back down.

A pair of communicators is an easy way to talk to the ground crew,
especially if you get the hands free mike/vox.

Greetings, TowerTalkians --

Here's a chance to share your experience with the rest of us. What's
your
favorite tower construction tip? What do you do that makes your tower work
easier, safer, faster, etc.?

I'll start with a couple even though it puts me over-quota - hi.

Ever notice how parts seem to disappear in the bottom of your tool bag?
I
like to have two tool pouches (bolt bags) on my belt - one for tools (left)
and the other for parts (right). Saves lots of hassle.

A tower climber's best friends are carabiners and slings. You can use
them for just about anything; i.e. pulling a mast up safely and easily,
attaching just about ANYTHING, holding something temporarily in a second
without dropping a part (like a clevis). I climb with around a dozen of each
and sometimes doing something tricky I use EVERY PIECE I've got with me.

    Okay, now it's your turn.

Cheers,
Steve K7LXC
