Gerry I see George has already answered your question. I will back it up by saying I had the same "brilliant" idea and bought a reel of MIG wire to make a cage style dipole for 75/80 Meters in hopes of greater bandwidth. I don't think the MIG wire lasted longer than 48 hours before I noticed it rusting through-Sigh!! I used standard bare copper wire instead that a local wire place brought in a 1000 feet or so for me. 73 Earl VE7IN |
