A good cable lubricant recommended by wire rope (cable) manufacturers is
PreLube 6. Available from <A HREF="http://www.championradio.com">

In this rare case, the manufacturer is WRONG! (The tower manufacturer
also is NOT the manufacturer of the cable so the LXC Prime Directive of "DO
what the manufacturer says" still applies.) Motor oil leaves a greasy film
that attracts pollutants and other particles, thus shortening its service
life.
