I've been experimenting with this, and can offer the following successful
combination:
1) windshield washer fluid bottle.
2) Protect from the sun with a sacrificial UV layer of cheap indoor/outdoor
acrylic spray paint. Choose color to blend with surroundings.
3) Fill with gravel to desired weight to prevent freezing and splitting in
winter.
I have one hanging on a run of ladderline that goes from the shack up the
tower. It's just the right weight to form a curve at the bottom for a drip
loop, and keeps it from flapping wildly in the wind.
