Thing to look for is the regulation. Some generators have poor, some good.
For ham radio purposes where load/no load cycle can be extreme (like running
linear on CW) this is important consideration. I have Generac (Costco) and it
is not the best (mchanical feedback). Seems that Honda or other brands are
better (electronic feedback - regulation).
There are also generators with flywheels, which have good mechanical inertia
to overcome the pulsating loads fluctuation.
