My Tailtwister rotator has gone on strike. It does not turn in either
direction.
Last week, after several days away, I tried to turn my antennas. After a
sluggish start, which I attributed to a sticky brake, the rotator did turn.
But then, a couple days later, it won't budge.
I disconnected the cable from the control box and made the measurements
suggested in the manual.
The voltages (for the solenoid, each half of the motor, and the direction
pot) are about what they should be.
For the listed pairs of leads in the cable, the resistances appear all
right (taking into account about 125 feet of #18 or #22 wire).
>From the ground, the clunk of the solenoid is clearly audible.
What should I try next to diagnose the problem?
