I helped a ham put together the Bencher...it was a first class engineering
job...each element was in a baggie with the related components...the only
confusing part was the multi-layered boom which you had to lay out on the
ground to make sure you were sliding the right sections into
place...followed the directions put it up for the guy at about 45 or so feet
and it was not only fine SWR wise but he was working paeople with it from
the gitgo...only thing wrong with his was it was a victim of non-rotated
inventory at a W6 seller - a very old model and had the original balun
design still in it - which was replaced by Bencher fairly early on - It was
a joy putting together everything...the only way it could have been easier
was if I had had a pneumatic riveter!
