This is exactly the kind of biased and ignorant statement that helps to
perpetuate misunderstandings and problems.

It is everyone's responsibility to ask the relevant questions and understand
their coverage BEFORE they buy it.

It is everyone's choice to premium shop or buy quality.  To a large extent
you get what you pay for.
Poorer quality companies compete on PRICE NOT COVERAGE.  Better companies
compete on QUALITY OF SERVICE AND COVERAGE, NOT PRICE.

You will never find a company that provides the lowest price and the
greatest coverage with the best service.

Quailty companies have already calculated their risk in the premium that you
pay for your policy and are willing to pay it with a valid claim backed up
by proper evidence of costs with receipts, estimates, etc.  It is their job
not to pay things that are not valid or not backed up by proper
documentation.   To some people that might be considered looking for
loopholes - however, it is just good business practice.

Poorer companies really do look for "loopholes" because they can't afford to
pay based on the lowball premiums that they charged.  Of course, had the
"shopper" really understood their coverage BEFORE they bought it, this would
have been an issue BEFORE they bought the coverage, not after.

For those (not all) consumers who shop based solely on lowest premiums, do
not ask the "hard" questions about what is and what is not covered and then
complain when their claim is denied based on a reading of their policy
coverage, that's just tough.

Unfortunately irresponsible smears like yours do a great disservice to the
industry and the reputable companies out there that really do stand behind
what they sell, and they take responsibility away from the consumer and put
it all on the "bad" insurance companies.  I had a great experience with my
carrier (State Farm), many others have too.  That's what you can expect from
good companies who charge realistic (not lowball) premiums.

If I am lazy and don't bother to find out what my insurance covers and what
it does not, then when I have a claim, it is MY FAULT - NOT the Insurance
companies, if I assumed that something was covered, when in fact it was not.
