FWIW, a number of years ago, I spoke with someone in the
Engineering Department at what was Telex-HyGain about
the specifications for the HyGain rotators. I was told that
NONE of the HyGain rotators, including the HDR-300 was
designed for turning (and holding) yagi antennas that had a
boom of over 26' in length.
For a short time, they even included that information in
their advertisements of their products.
