Don's comments are on point ... If you are going to elevate the base of the vertical, go ahead and put in 60 or so normal quarter wave radials in the ground. THEN install four "flat" elevated radials at 10' or so (plenty of room to walk/mow/etc. under). The in ground radials will reduce the ground losses while the elevated radials will provide the electrical "return" for the antenna ... 73, ... Joe, K4IK |
