My C4XL has helped me win three ARRL DX Phone plaques for Oceania. Having a
40 meter beam is a real plus when contesting. The antenna plays like a three
element antenna on 20 and 15. Mines on a Tri Ex LM470 and I often run it
when the tower is cranked down and results are good. When the tower is at
70' the antenna is really effective. With a KW into it, an inverted V for 80
and a Carolina Windom for 160, I can rack up a competitive score from a
small lot ( the Windom is hidden on state owned land).
