Local salvage yards in my area sell leftover 0.030" solid copper commercial
roofing material for $1 a pound (you get a LOT of copper sheet in 5 pounds!)
and aluminum scrap material in 1/16", 3/32", and 1/8" (and sometimes 1/4")
for 50 cents a pound. For heavier antenna and tower projects (if you or a
friend have the welding equipment and expertise to handle it) they usually
have random size pieces of heavy duty aluminum channel and angle stock in
several thicknesses, too. They have been very cordial to me in my several
trips down there, and seem to think my money is as good as anybody's. :-)

This list is sponsored by the new eHam.net Store. When you buy products
like ICE filters, Array Solutions StackMatch, or M-Squared Antennas from
the eHam Store for the same price you pay direct, a portion of the sale
price goes to support this list. Check it out at http://www.eham.net.
