I've seen 'em like that. The wisdom of having it bendable
(aggressively tapered) is why the elements are in a bow shape and will
recover when the ice melts, as opposed to a V shape that will stay
that way and have to be replaced.
Whoever put up that ridiculous "flimsy" F12 post, please take note of
the picture.
