Hi Rich -
The word "average" is cause for a little concern. In general, when
connecting baluns, leads from the same balun should be the same length.
That length should be the smallest practicable. That is, locate the balun
as close as practical to the element feedpoint, and leave just enough extra
length so that a terminal can be replaced if damaged, but no more.
