I need to replace the lifting cable on my LM470 due to one chaffed section.
The other 3 cables seem fine. It is my current understanding that the
replacement cable should be 3/16" 6x19 IWRC galvanized wire rope. Can
anyone confirm that this is the correct cable to use? McMaster-Carr has a
large selection of wire rope and my current understanding seems to fit based
on the definitions provided therein. However, I can only find 7x19 (w/
strand core) in a 3/16" size in the catalog. The 6x19 starts at 1/2" and
goes up in sizes. They also offer "lubricated" and "un-lubricated" cables
without definition of what this means. Any explanations?
Does anyone have a better source for this cable than McMaster-Carr?
Thanks & 73,
Mike-K6QD
