Not really sure why this was forwarded, but lets look at this
from a common sense point of view. He wants to put up a C3 or a
C4 for his HF work and a 2M beam. Mast Rotor and coax on a Hazer
which is on a Rohn 25G tower. If he uses common sense in guying
and purchases the proper model Hazer I don't see a problem.
What do I have to compare that too. I am using 59' of Rohn 25G
set 3 feet into concrete. A H4 Hazer with a 12' heavy 2" mast
and a Tailtwister rotor. I have a 2m vertical on top about 7' in
height, a CC 40m dipole just under that, and just above the
thrust bearing a Telrex TB6EM tribander. The Telrex is 85 lbs
itself. With coax and messenger line and control cables I am
near the max payload of the Hazer. The tower is guyed twice with
EHS cable. I have a third set on the Hazer of Phillystrand to
reduce the twisting motion. I may be pushing the capabilities of
the tower but with what he wants to put up, not a problem. You
will find no recommendation from Rohn on the use of a Hazer. If
you are in the same room with a Rep. from Rohn they will refuse
comment on anything put on any of their towers. The standard
reply is usually get a PE. But if Marconi had waited on a PE, we
might not be here today.
