<P>Ohh yeah, fakes exist of everything.</P>
<P>Good friend complained about the Quality of Marlboroughs in Mongolia (we are
both hard core fly fishing fools and fish all over). Said they had chucks of
wood in them and didn't taste right or burn evenly. I pointed out they were
certainly fakes. I few months later he got an incredible deal in the US on "tax
free - probably smuggled from somewhere" Marlboros - they were not the
real thing either.</P>
<P>Amphenols counterfeited?? I wouldn't be surprised!</P>

<DIV></DIV>>Thanks for the reply. Considering the fact that I only saved
just a few
<DIV></DIV>>cents per 259 at Dayton, aside from the fun of buying something
at Dayton--I
<DIV></DIV>>may just stick with the local supplier, be assured of the
quality and pay
<DIV></DIV>>the sales tax!! This is a small price to pay NOT to have to cut
connectors
<DIV></DIV>>off and redo them. So much for bargains:) Tommy

<DIV></DIV>>Of course that happens, and not just with cheap parts.
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>>One company sold Chinese 3-500Z's that were labeled "made in
<DIV></DIV>>Russia".
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>>A company named "Penta-Labs" (there were a few Penta Labs
<DIV></DIV>>around) obtained dud or old Eimac (and GE) transmitting tubes
and
<DIV></DIV>>replated them, straighten out the physical appearance,
renumbered
<DIV></DIV>>them, and sold them as new tubes. This was the reason Eimac
<DIV></DIV>>started stamping a logo in the top of the tubes, or internally
in
<DIV></DIV>>glass tubes.
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>>Companies also make bad runs of parts.
