I have a CushCraft 40-2CD up at 137'. It replaced a KLM
40M-4 w/ the HD boom. My 40-2CD has the strength-
ening mods that were explained in a QST article from awhile back. In the
last CQWW CW test, I was able to
WORK everything that I heard in the 'test, w/ 100 watts.
Sometimes it took a few calls but I got thru. Gud CW ant.
It will eventually be replaced w/ a home-built COPY of a
Telrex 40M346, which was Telrex's 40 meter yagi w/ 3
full-size elements on a 46' long boom. But in the mean-
time, the 40-2CD is a good CW antenna, esp. w/ the
mods to make it physically stronger.
