I have recently ground tested/calibrated the above rotor per specs and have
now mounted it on the BASE of a MA-770 Tower.
Now I need to re-calibrate it to the real world...the rotor's true north is
about 30 degrees off of my antennas magnetic true north.
I know the easy way to do it is to pull the indicator arm and set it to my
antennas true north. However, this throws everything else out of
calibration, ex: the over-rotation indicator comes on in the wrong spot and
the preadjust is also thrown off.
Does anyone out there have a way to calibrate this system, short of
dropping the antenna and rotating IT to true north. Normally, I would slip
the tower inside of the mounting brackets but I have a bolt holding an
extension of the bottom of the tower so the rotor clamps can only be
tightened in one position.
Any help would be appreciated.
