My business with FIRST CALL COMMUNICATIONS
Hello to all interested parties,
When I first published my difficulty in obtaining a refund with First Call
Communications I thought I was alone. Immediately upon publishing my
difficulties I have received numerous calls from other Ham's who were
experiencing similar difficulties. As a result we have formed a suppport
group with the express purpose of sharing information with regards to the
success any individual might have getting his monies advanced to first call
Communications refunded to him..
To date I have authorized two advances to First call Communications in the
amount of $9,451.60 for goods never delivered, the duration from date of
order placement to date of order cancellation occured over a 8 month period.
Joel on many occasions told me he would refund my money and in hindsight
this was a stall tactic to get me to continue to buy his story the tower
would ship in the next week or next month.
The purpose of this message is twofold, the first to restate I canceled my
order Jan 5, 2001 and as of today Feb 2, 2001 I have not seen a penny from
First call Communications and secondly to inform others of the questionable
business practices of First Call Communications. Joel states in the first
paragraph of "one" of his messages to me (see below) that he will be
responsible, of course he is as he charged my credit card. What he does not
say is if and when he will refund the moneys advanced other Amateur Radio
operators and myself to his company.
To all who read this be aware that a charge on your credit card that goes
over 60 days is very difficult to get corrected when you do not recover the
merchandise you ordered.
Should anyone care to share there experiences with me, I may be contacted at
540 454 0614 or my E mail address K4XT@aol.com.
E mail from Joel: You may judge for yourself his approach towards his
customers and his suppliers.

Dear Bill,
I just received your e-mail concerning the Sky Needle. I understand
that Robert is going to refund the money directly, if not I will be
responsible.
I take exception to one thing you said however and that is I told you
the rotator is at Paragon to match up with your Sky Needle. I even sent
you confirmations from M2 when it was received. I will attempt to get
the rotator returned directly to M2 hopefully without a restocking
charge as the box has not been opened. Do you still want the rotator
returned or do you care to use it in another tower?
Just for your edification, when we were talking about lies from Robert.
His number two in command informed me yesterday that your Sky Needle has
not been galvanized so you have to look at who you are dealing with in
California as a posed to us at First Call. We tell it " like it is" as
the information is received from Robert. When I quote seven weeks, I
don't make up this number.
It is important that you separate the two companies. I have always told
you the truth and with this galvanizing story I just told you, you know
where the truth lacks.
Tri-Ex towers are now being built by another company and orders have
been transferred over to them. The company does 53 million in sales and
has a little under 400 employees and is the largest manufacturer in the
world of telescoping masts. All orders have been transferred to them.
I will keep you informed of my progress and will be back to you within
two days. Please comment about the base you have from me that I already
took care of with Paragon.
Joel
