[TowerTalk] antenna mounts

Did anyone ever use a GR-5M orK600M mount on the hood of a Dodge or
Plymouth mini van? The reason I don,t want to mount on the roof because
the CA-UHV or too tall and hit too many objects like trees and low
overpasses. The HV-7A is another I would like to use because they cover
2 M HF UHF     6 m.
    Did anyone use this type of mount with this antenna system?
