Your switchable Beverage is a great application for open wire line and
your support idea is great. Can you send me the technical details as that is
one antenna I want to use in SD. What articles are there on it? This is one
of the few that has evaded me. Beverages can be lower than the usual 10'.
It's 10' just to avoid things that want to drive or walk below it. One can
actually lay insulated wire on poor conductivity ground. The signal goes
down some but the S/N ratio improvement is sometimes better. I want to
experiment with insulated and uninsulated wire in beverages and quads. There
is some evidence that less static electricity is picked up on the insulated
wire and will run side by side tests as I have the room there. There is snow
static and dust static I've heard. I have a lot of heavy insulated wire from
Boeing Surplus at $1/lb.
Long live open wire line.
