I'm putting a bunch of new feed lines in under a new house. They will end up
running the width of the house to get from the base of the tower to the
basement shack.
I'm a little concerned that RF on the outside of the coax may cause some
problems for other electronics in the house. i.e. A friend had a problem with
his Panasonic baby PBX recently because a coax carrying HF (~100W) was laying
parallel to a phone line. The RF seems to have eaten one of the Panasonic's
station ports.
My current plan is to put a NEMA box on the outside of the house and a plate on
the wall of the shack with bulkhead N connectors at both ends and ~60' of
LMR400 (100% double shield) in between. The box and the plate would be bonded
together by ground braid and the box would be grounded to the base of the
tower. There would be 10 feed lines bundled and run together between the box
and plate.
Is this the best I can do (short of wrapping the house in copper screen)? Any
problems people see with this approach?
