There have been several messages on a half wave verticals not needing radials. Any vertical works better with radials. The GAP is fed at the center so its hard to add radials (guess they would have to be elevated). Maybe Tom W8JI can give "just the facts", but a reading of the CQ Vertical Handbook by Capt. Lee is in order for the basic theory. A vertical dipole will work OK with center feed, but feeding at the base with radials attached will work even better.
