Hi Frosty,
I use thimble to thimble here.
If you want no resonances in the ham bands, the conductive
leader at the tower end should be 10 feet or less.
At the ground level, you need to get the Kevlar high enough
off the ground to prevent it from burning in case of a grass/brush fire.
