I'm putting up an 80m four-square, as pictured in ON4UN's
new book on page 11-79. It shows that the dipoles are pulled
out away from the tower at a 30 degree angle. This is not very
close to .25 wave-length apart.
I would like to hear from someone who has optimized the
distance from the center of each dipole as to what length turned
up optimum. Also, instead of as pictured in the book, I understand
that is is better to not attach the end insulators on each dipole
directly to the tower, but to place them about 8-10 feet away
with rope. Has anyone found the optimum distance for this
spacing?
Thanks in advance to all K8UR users out there who can steer
me in the right direction!
