The Tailtwister manual says the cap is across pins 4 and 8. It's value is
120-140mfd at 50VAC. Always mounted the cap right on the rotor terminals.

Subject: [TowerTalk] HAM-xx rotor phase shift cap
When I recently asked about a sluggish HAM-III rotor, several folks
suggested that the phase-shift cap might need replacement. I have
no schematic, so can't ID the cap in the control box.
One fellow said you could hang a replacement on the terminal
block (he thought pins 3/7), if only to verify the problem.
Given the transition from Telex/HyGain to MFJ, there is no
knowledgeable help there, so....
....does anyone know the value of the cap, and which terminals it
is connected to?

your direction!)
