DO NOT go into a hole that deep. I think most states require you to
have a safety trench whenever you get deeper than 4 feet.
My preferred method is to hire a backhoe with a professional operator.
These guys are magicians and can dig you a square hole or whatever you want.
It's money well spent IMO. They run around $4-450 for a good sized hole
around here. More if he has to haul the dirt away.
