UPDATE: 70 ft tower approx. 24" on side secured ON ISLAND--- what a stroke
of luck! These are 10ft sections with a plate on each leg--- 3 bolts per
plate. I dont have an idea of the manufacturer. Im putting this tower up
to about 65ft with a 19ft piece of chromoly mast available. Antennas will
be XM-40 at about 75ft, Bencher Skyhawk at
about 65ft and a M2 80M rot. dipole ( turned to run with the booms) at
about 70ft. Rotor is Yaesu 2800. Thanks to all on TOWERTALK helping me
make these choices...
I will be on North Caicos Feb 9 getting this junk in the air...the first
section of tower is already set. Hopefully this will produce a gud signal
for the ARRL in March. After the ARRL I hope to get up a second tower (
Rohn 25 @ 40ft ) and mount a C3 for a mult. ... wire antennas for
160-80-40.
Please notice that at this time I have not included plans for WARC or 6M---
my thinking is contest activity is most important. Since I will be renting
this place I would be concerned with any comments thinking WARC or 6M is a
MUST...
Thanks again TOWERTALK for the helpful comments on this tower/antenna
project.
Hope to see you in the ARRL as the maiden voyage of this station. ( VP5B--
as in VP5 "bud")
For those who have ask in the past looks like project will be in FB
condition for rental in early April---
