Kudos and thanks to Eric, N7CL, for doing the leg work to get us some
answers to the questions about corrosion preventative marking of antenna
parts.
For those who still doubt that there is a potential problem, please note
that there are some people, GE aircraft engine fabricators and D.O.E.,
Nuclear Energy folks that take this thing seriously! They usually get
really serious about these "little things" when they have witnessed
failures associated with them.
Corrosion prevention is an entirely separate discipline that is applied
to all types of applications, just like RF design, mechanical design,
etc. It usually occurs behind closed doors, from most of our
perspectives, but it is always going on.
An ounce of prevention is well worth many pounds of cure in this arena!
Eric has provided an attainable ounce of prevention that will no doubt
help some from experiencing the pounds of cure!
