<Ox-gard, Noaalox and others are NOT great conductors. In fact if you
put on too much you will guaranty poor contact between the elements
whether you use a wire brush or not. >
Reread your own posts..... The amount of antioxidant that you put on the
joints had absolutely nothing to do with the antenna being erratic.... The
traps were trashed!
And to state that you must work the antiox into the joint with sandpaper (not
a good idea at all, due to contaminating the antiox with crud) and then wipe
the joint with your fingers (leaving sweat and skin oil and more crud) or you
will have a high resistance joint is pure fantasy...
You want enough antiox in the joint so that when it is mechanically clamped
there is squeeze out along the joint line, to ensure that the joint is filled
and there are no voids to trap water...
