I have the Glen Martin 9 foot roof tower which I used 10 in stainless
steel threaded stock to go through the roof and through 2x8 4 foot
boards going across the roof supports. Been up about 14 months
without any problems. Holding up a C4 with a small discone about
7 feet above the beam. The beam is about 3 feet above the top of
the tower. Used the Glen Martin thrust bearing also.
Used a sign boom truck to life the antenna to the tower. Only 35
minutes for them to set up, install, and depart (took them 2 months
to send the bill!).
Good luck.
