> What is a choke Balun??
The best kind of balun. It has no ground reference, and so acts as a
totally ground independent source.
The only magnetic field in the core is due to any remaining unwanted common
mode currents, and so a smaller core handles more power (if the balun uses
a core) because the core is not used at all in the role of transferring
desired power. Their performance is virtually SWR independent.
I expect the Handbooks describe them, they might call them "current
baluns", the terms are interchangeable.
