David,
I'll share with you and the TowerTalkians the swr curve of my C-3 that I
just put up last weekend at 52 feet very near the side of my single story
home. I used the default mid-band element lengths. The swr was measured
with the only instrument I own, a RF Applications P-2000A RF Power/V.S.W.R.
Indicator. (the meter on my Omni VI seems to agree)

28.0=1.45vswr   28.1=1.35vswr   28.2=1.25vswr   28.3=1.2vswr   28.4=1.2vswr
28.5=1.2vswr   28.6=1.25vswr   28.7=1.4vswr   28.8=1.55vswr   28.9=1.7vswr
29.0=1.9vswr   29.1=2.0vswr   29.2=2.2vswr   29.3=2.5vswr   29.4=2.6vswr
29.5=2.8vswr   29.6=3.0vswr   29.7=3.1vswr

I'm not thrilled that it is up to 3.1 on the high end, but I'm very pleased
how low it is over the main areas that I use most often! (I could shorten
some of the 10 meter elements to pull the dip more towards the middle of the
band) My Ten-Tec is not bothered by the 3.1 anyway!

15 is not over 1.55 at any band edge, and 20 doesn't exceed 1.35! This has
been the most successful antenna project I've ever experienced.

10 meters is my favorite band and I would not want to narrow the band width
if I could avoid it and that's why my recommendation would be the C-3 over
the C-3S.

73 Bill
