On both of my 40 2-CDs, I added two stainless steel rivets at each element
joint and aluminum rivets to the boom joints. I put them in on different, 90
DEG rotated planes. That is, one rivet pointed "down", the other pointed
"horizontal". I allowed 3 inch spacing between rivet planes. I used 1/8 inch
dia. rivets for the elements and 1/4 inch dia. rivets in the boom. For each,
the rivet pull depended on the amount of material into which the rivet was
installed.
I do this on all of my antennas.
