Actually Rohn says not to lubricate these bearings. The problem is that
dirt and other contaminants will get in, stick to the grease and increase the
wear. They are, as you know, wide open to the weather.
My recommendation is to replace any Rohn thrust bearing that has gouged
or worn races. It ain't worth having them fail when they are obviously towards
the end of their service life.
