Hi all, Press and Tom have a great thread going; just wanted
to toss in my tests of LMR400 vs Press's 14 gage "450" ohm
line. I have previously posted this info, but have been told
it was just about impossible to read, had not set up my
new Outlook Express mail program correctly. Anyway,
I have found really, to me, significant improvment for
my HF effort in replacing the LMR coax with a couple
of hundred foot run of the 450 ohm twinlead from Press:
With 220 ft, LMR...........with 200 ft twinlead
7050...was 1.8dB loss....now, 0.4 dB loss,
10109..was 1.9dB loss...now, 0.5 dB loss,
14020..was 2.1dB loss...now, 1.0 dB loss,
21021.was 2.7 dB loss...now, 1.6 dB.
I very much like what the 450 ohm line has done
for me!! Details of my measurments to any one
interested.
