First, I will say this again and again. Art's departure from Cushcraft has no
bearing or impact on Cushcraft's amateur production nor our engineering effort.
The XM240 and other monobanders are not yet in full production. We are
currently in the process of finalizing the product Bill Of Materials and
Operation Sheets. We intend to publically announce product availability when
they are ready. This should be within the next few weeks.

I dont know where you got your information, but the XM240 is identical
electrically to the 402CD. The boom length on both the original and the new
version is 22', with the elements mounted just inside that dimension. The
only things slightly different are the reflector being insulated from the boom
and the supplied current balun (electrically). The new boom is a constant 2.5
inch outside diameter vs the 402's 2.125 and 2.0 inch diameter. The elements
and boom both use inner sleeving to bring the physical rating to 90 mph using
a 1.25 safety factor or 100mph using a 1.00 safety factor.
You should be able to stack the new with the old except that I'd make the feed
systems the same: use a coil of coax on both or the supplied balun on both to
insure a phased feed.
Anyone know if they are producing the XM240 yet? Art's departure has cast a
huge shadow of doubt on CC's amateur production....again!
