Actually the oringinal Wilson tubular crankup had a spring loaded pin at the
top of the lower section that would engage into a hole in the second section
at full height, releasing the tension on the main lifting cable. Wilson never
sold any of those towers with pull down cables. If you wanted an electric
winch they sold you one from WW Grainger.
US Tower (formerly Tristao) does sell an assortment of winches for the tubular
towers, one of which includes the pull down system.
