I just polished all the tubing on a TH6 I rebuilt with lemon scent Pledge
funiture polish, and after putting the beam in place on the tower, gain
figures increased 20% on every other odd numbered day after 7PM local
time during commercial breaks.
No, seriously, I found that the little 6" x 9" green cleaning pad, made by
Scotch (sorry can't remember what it is called or identified as), and
found at most grocery stores, is absolutely great for general element
JOINT cleaning. Put your element or tubing section into your padded vise
and use the green pad like a shoe-shine rag. Its grit is just about right for
cleaning off old oxidation, etc and not scarring the tubing. Doesn't take but
a minute of elbow grease per joint, then if so inclined, apply a little of
your favorite 'conductive grease', and reassemble. Viagra won't hurt
either whenever you get ready to erect your boom.
