FWIW, I run TR-log (sorry-RAT log) with OS/2 in a DOS window with
no problems either. The only trouble you're likely to have with a
multi-tasking OS is if you have other programs running, if the OS
decides to dedicate some time to the other program or to disk caching
while you're sending CW, in which case the CW will sound really funky
for a second or two.
I can use the LPT port with no problem, and can also use the K1EA DVP
card with no trouble. Haven't tried serial ports as I have neither
network, packet cluster nor computer-controllable rig at my QTH.
