I have had good results in coating the final wrap of tape with "liquid
electrical tape". I can be bought in cans with a built-in brush at most
hardware stores. It drys to a nice smooth shiney black surface and
eliminates tape "flagging" or worry about water gettin under the tape.

Once agn CoaxSeal gets an undeserved bad rap. Number one: so
what if u
can't get it off ur plug, are u gonna use that plug anywhere again that
is
out of the water? unlikely.
Number two: just wrap the connector with a layer of elect. tape and
then
apply the CoaxSeal. Later when u want to use that end of the coax
somewhere water is not, just unwrap the tape underlying.
Finally, ScotchKote will crack and break down with sun and time. It
is
not a good top coat. This comes from a guy who used it that way in
Texas
and in two years, it cracked a lot. de K4VUD
