The Udda-Yagi parasitic antenna design is unaffected by the boom. Many "yagi"
arrays are built of wire and suspended by rope. Some early rotatable yagis
were built of bamboo elements with copper wire taped to them. In fact, in the
50's-60's, yagis that were all metal and had uninsulated elements were called
"plumber's delights"
