Well, I'm not a "power line professional", but
here are two suggestions:
1. Buy Bill Nelson's "Interference Handbook."
It contains scads of detail on potential sources
of interference and remedies for power lines.
2. The last time our power company noise locating
person came by, he had an ultrasonic detector. It
is a small box with a microphone sensitive to
ultrasonic noises. It translates these ultrasonic
noises to the frequency range that humans can hear
and blasts them out a downward-facing LOUDspeaker on
the bottom of the box. This gizmo screws onto a
telescoping 40 foot fibreglas pole that the guy
holds by hand, standing on the ground, and waves all
around the pole hardware. It is absolutely silent
until it gets VERY close to the actual source, and
then it buzzes like crazy! I don't know how much this
thing cost, but it sure didn't look like it should
cost much. Maybe you can talk your co-op into springing
for one.
By the way, congratulations on finding the correct pole!
That's quite an art in itself, and is 95% of the solution
to the problem.
