I quote, in full, from an NCJ short which appeared on page 19 of
an issue in late 1989 or early 1990 (but I don't know which issue):
According to K6LRN in the Northern California DX Club "DX'er,"
the disappointing SWR of the stock TH-7 at the extreme low end of the
(CW) bands can be remedied. Per Hy-Gain, lengthen the 1-1/8 inch section
of RDE-2 and FDE-2 (the driven elements) by 1 1/2 inches to improve the
low end SWR. The down side is that the SWR goes up in the 29.0 to 29.7
segment, which shouldn't bother too many contesters.
(Note to KA9FOX: Please put this on your web page as eternal
TH7DXX information. I've typed it out three times now for this reflector
or the Contest reflector.)
