Hi to all!
I have a Force 12 EF330, a three element 30M yagi. I cannot tune this
thing for sour apples.
I have been told that it will work to spec just by setting it to the
dimensions in the book however the minimum SWR here is like 2.4:1.
However there is a big warning that these antennas have not been tested
(I wish I knew this before I ordered it) and that while the dimensions
should be OK, that the frequencies beside each element should be the
finite point and to resonate each element to those specs. For instance,
the director is to be resonated at 10.790. The driver is to be
resonated in the middle of the band. The reflector is to be resonated
like at 9.870 (I cannot remember exactly).
Then it goes on to say that if you do it at 25 feet, the accuracy is
plus minus 10kHz. If done at 45 feet, it looks like plus minus 20kHz.
Let me say this, to do what the instruction book says would involve me
climbing the tower literally dozens of times, first to resonate each
element then to tune the whole show together for lowest SWR with the
matching coil.
Anybody got one of these things? Do they work or did I get an April
Fool joke in July? If yours works, what dimensions did you set the
elements to?
Tom at Force12 has been out of town since last Wednesday. I have
repeatedly called for help but looks like he is the only really good
source of info out there.

Charlie, W0YG..>>
